Maria was born in north Sweden, and she eventually moved south and began working in her studio, which is in a converted chapel. She’s participated in several international group exhibitions in Sweden, Europe, and the US. Maria paints intuitively and crafts abstract shapes that create still life scenes with daring color palettes and iconic motifs.
